The Kasimir Project is a multidisciplinary project which aims at
providing oncology practitioners of the Lorraine region of France with
decision support and knowledge management tools.
The Kasimir System is a clinical decision support system which relies
on the
formalization of a set of clinical guidelines
issued by the regional health network.
Clinical guidelines are formalized in an OWL ontology O in
which a class of patients P is linked to a class
of treatments T by an axiom of the form :
EdHibou is used to let the user complete the description of
an OWL instance a of the class Patient
representing a medical situation.
Decision support is provided by reasoning over the OWL
ontology O. Deciding which treatment to recom-
mend to the patient described by a amounts to finding the most specific
atomic concepts T in O.
